Hardware Platform Interface Specification

The Hardware Platform Interface (HPI) specification separates the hardware from management middleware and makes each independent of the other.

New Release HPI B.02

The SA Forum updated HPI with the introduction of a new functionality diagnostic management instrument (DIMI) and a firmware update management instrument (FUMI), as well as an improved introduction to major HPI concepts and new functions to simplify the management of the hardware through entities. These updates and clarifications were based on input from users of the existing specification.

HPI Mapping Specification

The HPI-to-AdvancedTCA Mapping Specification details how the SA Forum’s HPI maps to PICMG’s AdvancedTCA specification. By standardizing how the two specs should be implemented together, the mapping specification gives developers a standard method to access functionality in both specifications, thereby saving companies time, money and resources.

Benefits of Adopting HPI

  • Shorter development cycles
  • Development cost savings
  • Lower total cost of ownership
  • Improved design flexibility
  • Reduced development risk
  • Faster innovation
