International Service Availability Symposium:
ISAS 2005

The Service Availability Forum™ will be hosting the second annual International Service Availability Symposium in Berlin, Germany, April 25-26, 2005.

The Symposium is a two day conference where Service Availability concepts and implementations will be presented to a wide audience of industry developers, academic institutions, IT managers, standards bodies and industry analysts. Presentations by high availability users and implementers, operators, and the academic community will address such topics as HA requirements, interfaces and functionality.

Topics Addressed

The interconnection of computing entities and the increasing interplay of hardware, software and middleware are causing computers to transcend far beyond the classical notion of 'systems' to the wider ranging 'services' oriented computing. The issues of design, composition, availability, responsiveness, analysis, security and many others are basic challenges thought out for provision of services and the service providing infrastructures. Sessions will include:

• Bob Spencer, Intel, will discuss the value of conformance testing.
• Hermann Kopetz will discussed TTA based service availability.
• David Penkler, Hewlett-Packard, will introduce the SA Forum Availability Management Framework.
• Francis Tam, Nokia, will present a special session devoted to concepts and specification details regarding ongoing SA Forum work.

Attendees are encouraged to register before March 25, 2005 to pay the early registration discount rate of 390 EUR. Registrations submitted after March 25, 2005 will pay pay 490 EUR.

A student rate of $250 USD is also available. Students should be prepared to show their student IDs at the on-site registration desk.
