The Service Availability™ Solution DefinedThe Service Availability™ solution provides on-demand, uninterrupted service for end-users. It requires building an ecosystem of network elements that meet the metrics of high availability (99.999 percent or greater system uptime) and are managed to meet the additional requirement of service continuity. Achieving service continuity means maintaining customer data and session state without disruption across switchover or other fault-recovery scenarios. In an open building-block design, middleware manages all critical resources to enable ultra-dependability of delivered services. The Service Availability Forum™ interface specifications promote standardization of the interface between the middleware and the heterogeneous resources that need to be managed. |
