Asif Naseem

President and COO
GoAhead Software

 

Dr. Asif Naseem is president and chief operating officer of GoAhead Software, Inc. in Seattle, WA. He is also the president of the Service Availability Forum. He has more than 19 years of experience in the computer and communications industry. Asif is a veteran speaker having presented at national and international events such as ITU Telecom Geneva, GSM World Congress, CTIA, and numerous other events. He has also presented papers at conferences organized by ACM, IEEE, and others, and is a frequent author of papers published in several technical journals and magazines. He has an MS in Electrical Engineering and a PhD in Computer Engineering from Michigan State University.

Ulrich Kleber is a senior specialist in Research, Technology and Platforms group of Nokia Siemens Networks. He has more than 20 years of experience in the communications industry, especially in the area of software architecture for operating systems, system management and operation and maintenance. His work now concentrates on standardization and strategies for high availability platforms.


 

John Fryer

John Fryer is the Director of Advanced Technology Marketing for Embedded Communications Computing within Motorola’s Networks business. Fryer is responsible for determining market trends and future customer requirements to develop strategic directions of Motorola’s AdvancedTCA® and MicroTCA™ based communications servers. Previously he was responsible for the worldwide product marketing of AdvancedTCA communications servers. Fryer joined Motorola in January 2003 with the acquisition of NetPlane Systems, Inc., where he was Vice President of Marketing for control plane and data plane software applications including suites of IP routing, MPLS and ATM protocol software based on IETF, ITU and industry forum standards. He has a strong technical background with over 25 years of experience in the communications industry, in a variety of marketing and engineering positions.

Prior to NetPlane, Fryer was employed by Cascade Communications where he held positions in product marketing and lead international marketing initiatives. Prior to that he held a variety of product marketing and engineering positions at General DataComm, Inc. and Standard Telephones and Cables PLC.

Fryer holds a B.Sc. with Honors from the University of Nottingham, England.

Bryan Harold

SA Forum Compliance Governance Board (SCGB) Chair

Bryan Harold is a Senior Technical Staff Member in the Systems and Technology Group for International Business Machines, currently based out of Austin, Texas.

He has more than 25 years of experience in the computer and communications industry, specifically in the area of the OS Kernel, File Systems, Compilers, System Management, and Database Systems. He has worked for IBM in various management and technical positions in Poughkeepsie N.Y., Yorktown Heights, N.Y., and Austin, TX.

Bryan drove the unification of the UNIX industry, including the UNIX93 and UNIX95 specifications and corresponding compliance suites.

Research interests in the field of computer science include: computer architecture standards, processor architectures, computer systems, server hardware, database systems, server software, systems software, open source software movement, and system management tools.

Bryan is currently the chair of the SA Forum Compliance Working Group, the SA Forum Compliance Governance Board Chair, and an SA Forum Board member.

Bryan holds a B.S. and M.S. in Computer Science from Kansas State University.
